Staff Sergeant William Z. Roland of Gainesville, FL graduated from Buchholtz High School in 2003.
While in High School, Roland completed four years of JROTC program.

In August 2003 Roland enlisted in the Air Force and went on to do his basic traing at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Upon completion of his basic training, Roland trained to decome a
Military Policeman. In 2004 Senior Airman Roland was transfered to the Security Force at Nellis Air
Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Staff Sergeant Roland deployed to Balad, Iraq in September 2008. This is Roland second tour to the middle east. His first tour of duty was in Kuwait, were he was assigned to Kuwait City International
Airport. During his tour in Balad, Iraq Roland re-enlisted for four years. Ho took the oath while
"outside the wire" in enemy territory. Zach as his mother calls him returned to Las Vegas, Nevada
April 1, 2009.

Today Staff Sergeant William Z, Roland is stationed in Aviano, Italy. His story continues.
